Background music

So....you decide to visit a medieval village.  You log in to Second Life, fire up Search, pick a likely sim, teleport.....and you're greeted with Metallica??????

Some historically accurate locations have lousy soundtracks. A sim owner can put in a music stream so whoever is there will hear it.  This is nice.  Some sim owners play what they like, whether or not it coordinates with the place.  This is not nice.

As an explorer, I love visiting re-creations of real life places (Ireland)...or creations of historical places (Ancient Rome)...or imaginary but well known places (Atlantis). And whereas It's easy to decide on a music genre when the location is a store, or a public park, or your own home...sometimes it's a difficult job to find music to fit the theme of a location.  I get this.

BUT......using just any old music is NOT preferable. I don't want to hear Elvis in a Tudor village, or Ella Fitzgerald in 17th century France. There is a (literally) world of music out there on the internet, people! Find it!

Just sayin  :-)
